This is called "State Fair Bedding" I would love it in my DD's room! I took note of way too many elements and tried to recreate them. I'm a work in progress, so hopefully I can keep it simpler next time. I used SU's Beautiful Blooms, my Cuttlebug (to mimic the rug) and my square punch to make a frame for the flowers. Note to self: Next time, punch out white squares to create a faux frame. Sometimes, I just gotta do things the hard way!

Jules' Birthday Card
I was in the mood for watercoloring, but it was harder than I expected. I need to practice. I used good old Wild Wasabi, watercolor paper, and marigold morning and barely banana. I used the distressor tool on the edges and watercolored them as well. The sentiment is from SU's happy birthday set. The stamp is from an unknown company. I bought the set at AC Moore long ago and NEVER USED it.
We have a very hot, smoky day in store for DD's birthday. You can actually see the smoke from the Dismal Swamp in the photo. Lovely, Eh? Have a happy last weekend of June!!!

SC182 DD's Birthday!
This is for SC182 over on splitcoast. My Sweetie is 8 tomorrow. She's a major animal enthusiast, so Wild About You was the only set to use! I also used So Many Scallops, My Marvy scallop punches, Marigold Morning, Bliss Blue, Green Galore, Rose Red and Basic Grey's Gypsy paper and SU Markers for the centerpiece. A storm blew up just as I was set to take the picture, hence the dark photo. How cute is this girl?

I'm a very poor (failure) wife
In the 1930s. I took the test and failed miserably. Give it a try here with an actual poll administered in the 1930s (I guess in a magazine or publication?)

Happy Birthday FireCracker!
Sorry about the lighting. I did this late at night and wanted to get it posted. I have a BFF who's birthday is July 4th, so she always gets a patriotic card from me. I used my new Virginia stamp from CC Designs at All That Scraps. I paperpieced her clothes with some DP from Michaels. I also got a new Sizzix Stars die to use in my Cuttlebug for the embelllies. I added the rickrack to add interest and then found out it's a ways to use it challenge. I used my copics for shading. Aren't her jeans awesome? - not mommy jeans at all!

The design colors were wild wasabi, sahara sand, so saffron, and whisper white. I had the wild wasabi and whisper white :( . Anyway, here's my attempt using Marigold Morning and Kraft as subs. I saw a challenge on a blog today to use 1$ stamps, so I used the flower from my Michael's 1$ bin. I also saw a tutorial today onJan Dierks' blog for making faux bows with glue dots. You can find that video here .
I used Versamagic on the flowers and embossed them. The shininess is a bit much on the pic.I used PaperTrey's Honey Bees to add the bees to the little metal rimmed stickers that I think I got at Target or the Dollar Store. It's beena while since I purchased them, and I just can't remember where? Anyway, the look of them makes me think of the Honeybee's dance they do to tell each other where to find the best nectar. How cool is that?

CC171 All Natural Thanks
Soft Sky, Basic Black, and Kraft are the colors this week on SCS. You can find some awesome ideas for using these colors here. I used glossy white cardstock from SU and used a white crayon to 'mask' some of the image. Then I sponged the image with Soft sky and wiped off the ink with a soft cloth. I used the ribbon as an afterthought because I didn't have Basic Black cardstock. (What kind of papercrafter doesn't have Basic Black, I ask you?) The hardware was purchased at JoAnn's at 40% off this week. I've never used hardware before and have learned that it's probably best to use on landscape orientation because of placement and weight. (The card tips over a bit). Happy Stamping!

Oldie but Goodie Grad Smile
I made a card for a neighbor who graduated from my high school alma mater. The colors are blue and gold so I coordinated the card in those colors. I used SU's Smile and Smile Accessories. I haven't used it ina while but really needed something FAST! i had 15 minutes to make and deliver the card and was able to do it AND clean up. What a miracle!
Even though it's very simple I think it works :) .Hope ya like it!

Cookbook for a Cook
I cased this cookbook from my buddy Dawn, who found the idea on line. I changed very little from the original besides some of the paper (SU dsp) and the ribbon (that beautiful chocolate satin ribbon from SU) I used Stampin' Up's "Voila" and the heart is from "Pullin for you" (the tugboat set from SU). I made the cookbook for one of our cafeteria workers who retired today! Everyone submitted their favorite recipes and I bound the book with my Bind-It-All. It was my first time using it and watching the video helped a lot.
Today was my last day of school/work, so I'm OFF for the summer! I hope to be posting a lot more for the next couple of months. I need a stamping room so very much. Anyway, hope you like the project!

Quick Thanks
This card uses that beautiful Papertrey ribbon - lemon tart and SU's All Natural (retired) set. I love the font of the sentiment and the images in that set. I also used my copics and Basic Grey DP. The middle flower is paper pieced as are the middles of the flowers. I do believe my knot in my ribbon needs a little work. I must learn patience. Anyway - it was a quick card to complete. Hope you like it.
We are in triple digits at this point in Virginia. My daughter played sand soccer at the beach this weekend and was home sick today. we are barely moving around here, trying to stay cool.
It's our last week of school, though! Hooray!!

The bellas are my fav gals. We've had a great beach day at the largest soccer tournament in the world here in Va. Beach. My daughter played sand soccer. Her team, the Penguins won their first game and won their 2nd game due to a forfeit. The other team didn't have sand socks and were getting their poor feet burned on the sand. It is 95 degrees here this afternoon and the forfeit was understandable, but sad.
The ocean was perfect today. It was quite chilly which is just what the doctor ordered in this heat! The waves were tall, but came in sets, so we didn't get knocked around. It was super great!
